In our fast-paced, constantly-connected world, it's easy to feel like we're always on the go. But while our lifestyles have become more hectic, our ability to focus and get things done has actually decreased.
According to a recent study, modern lifestyles don't support good executive function. Executive function is the ability to plan, focus, and remember details. It's what allows us to stay on task and get things done.
The study found that people who sleep less than six hours a night, don't exercise, and have a lot of screen time are more likely to have poor executive function.
So if you're finding it hard to focus, or you're always forgetting things, it could be because your lifestyle isn't supporting good executive function. To improve your productivity, try getting more sleep, exercising more, and reducing your screen time.
